When asked to define her style, Chara Nagle uses just
two descriptors - bold
and beautiful.
Using BIG canvases with acrylic, Chara Nagle defines
these moments and views them through a magical vibrant
use of colour and a strong depiction of light and dark,
stirring a strong sense of nostalgia within the viewer.
When asked what other painters inspire or engage her,
Chara Nagle mentions Jack Vettriano for the way you
literally get carried away into another world with his
movement and colour. She's also a huge fan of Caravaggio
for his ability to make skin look so soft. In fact in
her student days, she was once marched out of a gallery,
for trying to feel the texture of one of his paintings.
